Happy NIU Year!

25th of January is the lunar calendar New years eve, and the 26th the year of the ox starts, and as the ox is pronounced “niu” in Chinese, many people go around wishing happy “niu year”. Gongxifacai means something like wishes for prosperity and wealth.

Den 25te Januar er iflg lunar kalenderen nyttårsaften, og 26te januar går vi inn i oksens år (uttales ”niu” på kinesisk, så mange sier ”happy niu year”). Gongxifacai er dog den klassiske kinesiske nyttårs gratulasjonen, med ønsker om hell, velstand og ett rikt år.
