The Ark

UZB 041.jpg
Before the emir Said Ah Kahn fled to exile in Afghanistan, The Ark was the fortified residence of the emir.

Caught off guard

UZB 044.jpg
Being an emir was probably not an easy task in the sizzling heat, but beauties were probably abound.

Skinnydip

Swim.jpg
Some of the locals decided to swim naked, I kept my boxer shorts on, and
kept my mouth over water cause the water was rather murky.

hodet over vannet for vannkvaliteten var vel heller tvilsom.

My only souvernir

UZB 055.jpg
On my whole journey I only bought one souvenir (1 rmb!, and I still wear it), a wristband which I was bemused to have a cute girl attach to my leg (and the 3 others was “copy-cats”). In the end we had a masseuse think this was a new trend for we visited a massage center twice in Xinjiang with a few days in between, and the girl the gave Morten a massage, by chance later also gave my brother a massge.

The 4th cabin passenger

UZB 062.jpg
Before Sturla joined us, we travelled with 1 stranger in cabins for 4 people. Normally there would some boring old fart, but this time we were quite lucky. Here travelling onwards to Samarkand.

The Registan Square

UZB 065.jpg
Maybe the single most impressive point on our entire travel, breath taking!

In pursuit of the best view

UZB 069.jpg
To get the best view of the square, we bribed a guard with some small money and we were allowed to go to the top of one of the minarets.

Minaret view

Should have had this one in 360, next time..
