Airasia, 2nd year in a row

IMG_0482.jpg
Last year Thailand and Kabodia, this year Malasia, AirAsia (similar to European Ryanair), makes Asia a cheaper place to fly around in. This year we decided for a 6 days holiday May 1st to May 6th, partly because we came to the conclusion that Veslemøy could not have enough time off to go to Norway this summer, so Malasia was a good number 2 choice.

Pouring hot springs

IMG_0164.jpg
The Poring Hot springs, actually the name of the place, was quite a pleasant experience, although it was raining at the time, at least the water was naturally heated.

Raflasia

IMG_0039.jpg
Raflasia is the biggest flower in the world, this one probably about 50cm in diabmeter, they only bloom 7 days a year, for this specimen that seems to have been some time ago.

Fireflies

IMG_0307.jpg
Fireflies is ”impossible” to take pictures off, but I ended up with this shot… Very interesting to see all these flying fires, and we found a tree in the darkness that has so many fireflies on it that it looked like a Christmas tree.

Preparing for monkey trip

IMG_0193.jpg
The monkeys of Borneo are quite famous, and the teddy bears they make here seems of good quality too.

Proboscis

IMG_0226.jpg
This relatively rare and shy kind of ape, can only be found in Borneo, and we went on a excursion (by boat) to find some in their natural habitat. We were not as near as it may seem, but 5x optical zoom helped for this photo.

Direct decendant from monkies

IMG_0106.jpg
The ”canopy walk” was 150 meter long rope supported roads, really quite far up in the treetops, and I am adding some difficulty to the walk.
