The heat is on

The heater has once again found it’s good use as temperatures have been dropping as low as 0 degrees, but what’s the apple doing on the heater? According to XiaoMei, putting fruit on the heater is quite common in the north (of china).

Radiatoren er nok engang i flitting bruk ettersom temperaturen har fallt så lavt som 0 grader, men hva gjør eplet på ovnen? I følge Veslemøy er det ganske vanlig å varme frukt slik i Nordkina.

Kristian, Ilona and little Julia visiting

A former colleague at Cisco in Amsterdam visited me recently. He has now relocated back to his home country Finland, and live there with his Dutch girlfriend and 4 months old daughter. I had the pleasure to be their guide for 3-4 days in Shanghai. Nice to see them again.

En tidligere kollega fra Cisco i Amsterdam (Kristian Jaaskalainen) besøkte meg nylig i Shanghai. Han har nå flyttet tilbake til hjemlandet, Finland, og bor der med sin nederlandske kjæreste Ilona og deres 4 måneder gamle Julia. Jeg fikk oppgaven som kjent mann i deres 3-4 dager lange opphold. Ett hyggelig gjensyn.

Glamourous at the traditional pre-christmas party

”Julebord”, or some excuse to get drunk before Christmas is quite big in Norway, just as it is in China, maybe only more glamour here? Restaruant owner Christian fits well in his suit anyway.

Julebordet i Shanghai er ett viktig årlig arrangement for Nordmenn i Shanghai. Over 200 påmeldte, og høy sigarføring, her representert ved min gode venn Christian som har åpnet restauranten Salabim.

This is the first time any of XiaoMei’s family has been permitted entry in our apartment. I’m not sure if it passed the control, but it is what it is.
